VOLUNTEER
Like all volunteer organizations, we can always use great help. When we are at the pound for adoption days or dog walking evenings, we need help cleaning out the kennels and walking dogs.
Halo volunteers are not at the pound daily.
Volunteers are welcome at the pound on a conditional basis- volunteers must follow the rules of the pound.
Volunteers must attend a scheduled orientation - see home page for schedule.
No volunteers under the age of 12.
Children between the ages of 12 and 15 need to have a signed waiver by parents and a parent must be present at ALL times with each youth volunteer.
16 and 17 year-olds may volunteer without a parent present after a waiver has been signed by the parent/guardian.
We do not offer court-ordered community service hours.
Fundraising is another great way to volunteer. We use the funds to offer half-price spay/neuter certificates (not to exceed $50) for the animals adopted from the pound, provide emergency medical care for adoptable pets at the pound, and to advertise for these pets to find them homes as quickly as possible after they are available for adoption.
